Corinne S Ertel, MD
Dr. Ertel received her B.S. from Cornell University and her M.A.T. from Harvard University. She began her professional career as a biology teacher prior to receiving her M.D. from The University of Michigan Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and her adolescent fellowship at The Children's Hospital in Boston. Dr. Ertel is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and has continued her interest in teaching by precepting medical students and residents throughout her career, in addition to patients and parents. She is board certified in pediatrics, a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined Weston Pediatric Physicians in 1983. She has a particular expertise in adolescent health care. |

Shelly C. Bernstein, MD
Dr. Bernstein received his A.B. and Ph.D. in genetics from The University of Chicago and his M.D. from Pritzker School of Medicine of The University of Chicago prior to completing his pediatric residency at The Children's Hospital in Boston. He then completed a hematology-oncology fellowship at Children's Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He had a significant research career prior to joining Weston Pediatrics in 1990. Dr. Bernstein is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and has ongoing teaching responsibilities of medical students and residents. He is board certified in pediatrics, a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Bernstein has a special interest in hematology and oncology and in addition to his patients at Weston Pediatrics, he also cares for children at The Jimmy Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. |

Joshua Gundersheimer, MD
After receiving his B.A. from Amherst College and his M.D. from Harvard University, Dr. Gundersheimer completed his pediatric training at The Children's Hospital, Boston MA. He then practiced in Hopkinton, MA before joining Weston Pediatrics in 2001. He has been involved in numerous hospital committees and has been actively involved in teaching medical students throughout his career. He is board certified in pediatrics, a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. |

Donna M. Staton, MD, MPH
Dr. Staton graduated from Williams College and The University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency at The Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center and joined Weston Pediatrics in 1989. She is particularly interested in international health and often works overseas in developing countries. In 2002, she received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Harvard University, concentrating in international child health. She is on the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics' (AAP) International Child Health Section, and is a frequent speaker at AAP meetings. She is board certified in pediatrics, a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She works part-time at Weston Pediatrics.

Kristi Monica, MD
Dr. Kristi Monica joined Weston Pediatrics in 2007. She received her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital, Boston, and is Board Certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Monica is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She enjoys taking care of pediatric patients of all ages.

Ellen Mahoney, MD
Dr. Ellen Mahoney joined the staff at Weston Pediatrics in 2007. Dr. Mahoney received her undergraduate degree from Bates College and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Rhode Island. Dr. Mahoney is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Mahoney enjoys caring for all patients in the practice of primary care.

Bianca S. Shagrin, MD
We are pleased to welcome Bianca Shagrin, M.D. to Weston Pediatrics as of September, 2008. Dr. Shagrin joins us after 3 years of experience as a pediatrician in general practice in New York City, affiliated with NYU Tisch Hospital. She trained in pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Shagrin graduated from Vassar College where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Shagrin has volunteered in public health in Sri Lanka after the tsunami in 2005, and has had other international health experiences in India, Guatemala and Ecuador. Locally, she was involved in community health in East Harlem and Chicago. Dr. Shagrin is fluent in Spanish and is board certified in Pediatrics.

Karen McCarte, CPNP
After graduating from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree, Ms. McCarte pursued a Master of Science degree in Maternal and Child Health from Boston University. She received her Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Massachusetts General Hospital before joining Weston Pediatrics in 1980. She is a lactation consultant and has special interests in behavioral pediatrics, parenting skills, and infant care.

Genevra B. Casais, CPNP
Ms. Casais received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College and then earned a Masters of Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professionals. After practicing in New York for three years, she relocated to the Boston area and joined Weston Pediatrics in 1999. She enjoys patients of all ages and has special interests in Adolescent Medicine and teenagers as well as Infancy and working with young children. She is an allied health member of The American Academy of Pediatrics.

Jennifer C. Kesselheim, MD
Dr. Kesselheim has also joined our staff to see patients on the weekends. She is completing her Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at Children's Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Kesselheim received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin. She received her medical degree from of the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine and holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania Center for Bioethics. Dr. Kesselheim completed her internship and residency at Children's Hospital, Boston. She serves on several committees at both Children's Hospital and Dana Farber.

Andrea A. Pettinato, MD
Dr. Pettinato will be seeing Weston Pediatric patients on several weekends throughout the year. She has been an active staff member of Children's Hospital Boston since 2003. Dr. Pettinato is a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton NY. She received her medical degree from UMass Medical School and completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She also completed an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital, Boston. She is board certified in both Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Pettinato is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Society of Adolescent Medicine. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
